Based on the Chiba Bank Group's Corporate Code of Conduct, the Chiba Bank Group Procurement Policy sets forth our basic approach and requirements for suppliers to conduct environmentally and socially responsible procurement activities.
1. Basic Approach to Procurement
Fair and impartial selections of suppliers
The Chiba Bank Group will make fair and impartial decisions on suppliers, based on factors such as convenience, economic rationality, compliance with laws, regulations, and social norms, respect for human rights, and environmentally friendly initiatives.
Compliance with laws, regulations and social norms
We will strictly comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and rules, and exercise strong self-discipline in our procurement operations. We will maintain sound and transparent relationships with suppliers, and will not give or receive entertainment or gifts to or from suppliers that violate social norms.
Respecting human rights and Environmental Considerations
In our procurement activities, we will place importance on respect for human rights and environmental considerations such as climate change and biodiversity conservation when dealing with suppliers and purchasing goods and services.
2. Requests to Suppliers
The Chiba Bank Group requires its suppliers to understand and comply with the following.
Compliance with laws, regulations and social norms
Strictly comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and rules, and pursue sound and fair corporate activities that conform to the social norms.
Information management
Establish a management system for the appropriate protection and use of personal information in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and related laws and regulations, and strictly manage information acquired through business activities.
Respecting Human Rights
Understand that their business activities may have a negative impact on human rights, and conduct corporate activities in a manner that respects human rights, including not engaging in child labor, forced labor, or trafficking in persons in business activities and supply chain.
Environmental Considerations
Fulfill social responsibilities through efforts to reduce the use of resources and energy in business activities, use low-carbon and decarbonized energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and address biodiversity.
Exclusion of transactions with antisocial forces
Do not have any relationship with antisocial forces or groups that threaten the order and safety of civil society and hinder sound economic and social development.
